There's no tsunami of 'toxic' misogyny - esp. not from white boys
The hysteria surrounding Netflix's Adolescence is exactly that: hysteria
The fashion for man-hating has reached a fever pitch in recent weeks.
Ever since Netflix aired the TV series Adolescence, activists have jumped on it as ‘proof’ that young, white men are being ‘radicalized’ into violent misogyny.
The hysteria is so ridiculous that even the Labour government is planning a private screening in parliament. Presumably, they want to weaponise it to further their two-tier laws, which only target white men.
The reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
According to a report in The Guardian (of all places), rates of domestic violence against women have fallen in recent years. They cite data from The National Audit Office, which says the prevalence of domestic abuse against women reduced from 9.2% to 7.4%.
Meanwhile, the number of women murdered in the UK has also decreased. According to the Office for National Statistics, the tally of female murder victims shrunk by 10% (from 173 to 156) in the year up to March 2024.
Obviously, 156 is still too many, but it’s also progress - and hard proof that ‘misogyny’ is neither on the increase, nor routinely translated in to violence.
In contrast, it’s men - not women - who continue to be the overwhelming victims of homicide (they comprise nearly 75%). They are also more likely to suffer from random street violence, including knife crime, yet this is often ignored - and is certainly never classed as ‘misandry’.
If it were, the whole narrative around gendered violence would collapse and fry brains.
In fact, contrary to popular belief, it’s actually female violence that’s getting worse. Not male violence.
This study, featured in the National Institutes of Health, looks at the growing trend in detail. They see rates of violent women increasing exponentially across Canada and America, while rates of violence among boys is actually decreasing.
The evidence is all around us. Only recently, three teenage girls were arrested over the manslaughter of a man in Islington, north London. They attacked him in the street and left him to die. Meanwhile, over in the USA, two teenage girls were arrested for plotting a "mass casualty attack" with pipe bombs and guns.
Both stories gained little traction on the world stage. But, if the attackers had been boys, you can guarantee it would’ve been proof that masculinity is a pathology.
Then there’s the myth that women don’t commit violent crime, which is BS.
Last month, a woman called Nina Mercer was jailed for life after killing a vulnerable man in his home. Her case sparked no debate on opposite-sex violence, yet she’s one of many women who kill.
Then there’s this case, which proves that women regularly commit violence against other women. It’s a torrid tale, but, once again, it garnered no attention from the usual gobshites who talk non-stop about ‘violence’.
These are the same people who also fail to mention that rates of domestic violence are highest in lesbian relationships, not heterosexual or male-and-male
That said, it’s obviously not just about gender. Men may still commit more violent crime than women, but it’s not the white, working-class boy portrayed in Adolescence.
Hilariously, the show is based on the real-life case of Hassan Sentamu - a black boy who fatally stabbed a 15-year-old girl after row over teddy bear.
Sentamu was just 17 when he killed Elianne Andam by stabbing her in the neck outside the Whitgift Centre in Croydon, south London, in September 2023.
At his Old Bailey trial, Sentamu admitted manslaughter but denied murder, claiming his autism spectrum disorder had caused him to lose control during a meeting with Elianne. But, in January, a jury found him guilty of murder by a majority verdict.
The judge, Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb, sentenced Sentamu to life in prison with a minimum term of 23 years as he had taken a knife to the scene.
This alone is worthy of discussion because, when it comes to violence, black men are hugely over-represented. Don’t believe me? Ask the experts. In 2020, Cressida Dick, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, stated that black people in the United Kingdom were eight times more likely to commit murder.
She also noted that, despite making up just 13% of London's total population, black Londoners account for 45% of the city's knife murder victims.
Crucially, their victims are mostly other black boys. Not women or girls.
So how does the deceptive spin on statistics manage to thrive?
It’s partly because people are stupid and repeat whatever narrative they’re told, but it’s also because our institutions have been captured by left-wing idealogues, many of whom are man-hating feminists with a nefarious agenda.
Ironically, it’s them who are facilitating the sort of violence that kills - while alienating the many men who want women to be safe.
Thanks for the post.Back in the 1970s, Straus, Steinmetz and Gelles found that women perpetrate domestic violence as often as men. Shortly after they published their findings, feminists made death threats against the three research sociologists
‘Toxic’ is a term we never need to hear again, like ‘normalise’ & ‘lived experience’.
